Since its inception in 1997, Ravi Seeds & Research Pvt. Ltd. has been dedicated to providing premium seeds to farmers, ensuring only the finest products reach our consumers. Our founder, Mr Satyanarayan Kakani, had only one vision in mind: to create a company “by farmers, for farmers”. This farmer-first mindset is what brought his vision to life. His attitude and leadership have shaped our strategy in many ways, believing in sustainable development and fostering a culture that celebrates courage in solving problems. Now, with almost 30 years in the industry, we have the strength to diversify and grow into a company selling multiple products to our farmers across various states in India.

1992

In 1992, a farming family’s experience with soybeans and wheat highlighted key challenges, sparking a vision for better seeds, improved yields, and sustainable agriculture practices.

1998

Ravi Seeds was founded in 1998 with its first plant in Alote, Madhya Pradesh, aiming to deliver premium seeds for improved yields and sustainable farming.

2010

By 2010, Ravi Seeds had earned trust across India for high-germination wheat, and soybean seeds, ensuring consistent quality, strong yields, and better crop performance.

2021

In 2021, Ravi Seeds launched RSR-101 wheat with better yield, quality, and disease resistance, alongside upgrading its Alote plant with modern German seed processing technology.

2024

By 2024, UNNATI became India’s top research soybean. Ravi Seeds also launched Prakash Chana, further strengthening its commitment to innovation and advanced agricultural solutions for farmers.

In 2000, Ravi Seeds was incorporated as Ravi Seeds and Research Private Limited, enhancing operational efficiency, boosting production capacity, and strengthening R&D, marking its emergence as a trusted name in India’s seed industry.

2016

In 2016, Ravi Seeds opened a new plant in Pratapgarh, Rajasthan, optimising its supply chain and expanding its production to meet rising demand for high-quality seeds across India.

2022

In 2022, Ravi Seeds launched its first research product, Badlaav-ka-Beej (UNNATI Soybean)—a resilient, high-yield variety that quickly gained recognition for its adaptability and confirmed the company’s research leadership.
